Specialists in the fabrication and installation of structural steel

James Evans & Sons Ltd was established in Dingwall, Ross-shire in 1977 by James Evans and his wife Gena. The company continues to be family-owned and family-run, with Craig Evans now Director.

JES specialises in the fabrication and installation of structural steel covering the commercial, industrial and energy markets. Two modern fabrication shops in Dingwall with ample set down and storage yards allow substantial projects of up to 200 tonnes to be processed safely and efficiently alongside regular smaller general fabrication jobs. Being able to expand on our Dingwall site means we can pre-assemble projects prior to delivery to site, for safer and faster installation on the ground.

The company also employs a complete trade supply chain network to bring in other trades as required, offering clients a one-stop shop for projects and a single point of contact for complex operations.

We’re conscious that our work has a large carbon footprint, so we seek ways to reduce it and offset it, from pallet recycling and materials wastage minimisation to installing cutting-edge machinery that uses less energy and consumes fewer consumables.

We are committed to providing quality processes, products, and procedures for our customers. To do this, James Evans & Sons Ltd is ISO 2015 Accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2015.

Our Health & Safety officer has unparalleled experience in H&S across the industry and is employed on a programme of continual improvement, both in-house and on-site, ensuring the highest levels of safety and certification at every stage of our work.

Our work processes reflect this: our pre-assembly process makes it possible to finalise structural work and dry-fit it in the safe surroundings of our 5-acre site, reducing the time required and the risk of harm during final installation on site. Edge protection and safety netting protect our workforce and yours on-site, and all projects are supported by method statements, risk assessments and, where appropriate, lift plans.
